We would like to thank everyone who donated to the American Cancer Society by purchasing luminaries for our event Sunday evening! Everyone that purchased a luminary should place them along the road in front of your home, or in your driveway at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Remember to weight your bags down using a canned good, rocks or sand. LED tea lights or glow sticks are a safe way to light your luminaries when you put them out.
We encourage all residents to travel around to the various locations with your family to see the luminaries beginning at 7:30 p.m. The areas with the most luminaries are shown in the link below. If you have luminaries out, please keep them out until at least 8:30 p.m. We will be driving two amazing survivors around that evening to see all of the support. Feel free to walk or safely drive your vehicle or golf cart around when viewing.
We have some awesome volunteers that will be located in these areas taking photos and videos. The final video will be published on Saturday, May 16 as part of the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life.” The more of you that go out between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sunday to view the luminaries, the more spectacular the video will be.
You will see members of our police and fire departments riding around during that time with their blue and red lights on. They are doing this to show their love and support for the incredible survivors and for those we’ve lost. We hope that you and your family, regardless of whether you purchased a luminary or not, will come out make this another incredible event in Tega Cay!
