Our Finance Department manages and maintains the City’s financial stability in conformity and compliance with state and federal laws. Pursuant to Article X, Section 7(b) of the SC Constitution, the City must prepare, adopt, and maintain an annual budget which provides for sufficient revenues to meet the City’s estimated expenses in the upcoming fiscal year.
The City’s fiscal year begins on October 1st of each year and concludes on September 30th of the following calendar year. It is important to note that both the State and York County operate on a July 1- June 30 fiscal year.
