A few weeks ago, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) conducted their annual sanitary survey of our water system. The intent of the survey is to evaluate the public water system’s ability to provide a continuous supply of safe drinking water to its customers following established state guidelines.
The City's system received an overall rating of “satisfactory” with no deficiencies noted, which is the highest rating possible for a public drinking system. The survey also noted that based on the water audit performed only 0.15% of the water the City purchased from Fort Mill was unaccounted for during the 2019 fiscal year. By industry standards this is amazing! Excellent work by our Utilities Department!
