Yellow bows have been placed around the City in honor of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Earlier this month, City Council proclaimed September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month for the City of Tega Cay and encouraged all citizens to join in reaffirming the commitment to fighting childhood cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 15. The causes of pediatric cancer are still largely unknown and many area businesses have joined in the efforts of former Mrs. South Carolina Strawberry Queen, Dana Boutwell, in her "30 days for a Cure" campaign to raise money for pediatric cancer research.
Area businesses include Casual Water, Toast Café and Danny's Pizza among others throughout the area. Just visit one of the businesses on the calendar on their specified day to support the campaign.
