Please be advised, the Carolina Show Ski Team Performance Platform Ribbon Cutting has been postponed due to weather. The ribbon cutting will now take place on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at Windjammer Park in Tega Cay.
The performance platform will be used by the ski team for practices, shows, and community classes, such as Learn-to-Ski Clinics (scheduled for July & August this summer). When not in use by the team, it will be available for the general public to provide access for boating, fishing, and other water activities. The platform measures 20 x 40 feet, with Ipe decking – a unique hardwood - and includes an attached aluminum walkway to ensure safety. “This is a milestone for the Carolina Show Ski Team, helping us move to the next level, and one that will benefit the community as well….you have to love that,” Russ Frase, President of the team commented. “It was great seeing everyone come together, work towards a common goal, and achieve it – thinking about our kids today, and planning for the kids of tomorrow, who will want additional access to the lake.”
The ski team, along with a few donations from members of the community, funded and built the performance platform which has been donated to the City of Tega Cay. The ski team is hopefully that this season’s ski show donations, clinics, travel performances and additional support or sponsorship will offset the remaining costs.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be open to the public and the Carolina Show Ski Team will provide a brief demonstration of show skiing.
